Most air carriers do not permit name changes or adjustments in their flight booking records.

Passenger names are a significant part of the booking record and cannot be modified. That is why we ask you to recheck all names provided when requesting a booking. We cannot explain how important it is to specify

stress enough how important it is to properly indicate all names, EXACTLY as they show up on the passport.

In rare cases, there may be a chance to find an alternative solution (for example, canceling the original flight booking and then creating a new one). Such solutions may entail additional costs and depend on factors such as fare restrictions, inventory availability, or the rules of a particular airline.

(As with any rule, this one also has exceptions; but they are so rare that it would be inaccurate to even hint that someone could really count on special treatment.)
