Liquids, gels, creams and pastes fall under the following rules: only containers up to 3.4 oz / 100 ml can be put in the cabin luggage, whilst containers of bigger sizes require being packed in the checked baggage.

The US Transportation and Security Administration (or TSA) has put a limit to the volume of liquids, gels, creams, and pastes that can be carried in the cabin of the plane. Travelers are enabled to take a travel-sized bag or container of up to 3.4 oz / 100 ml each.

Notwithstanding the item quantity, bigger containers need to be carried in the checked baggage. (Exceptions are admitted for drugs and baby/child food).

The TSA advises separating the liquids, gels, creams, and pastes from other items in your cabin luggage, putting all of them in a resealing bag or Ziploc bag to skip delays at the checkpoints of the airport.
